Dear Takuya Sato san

“We stayed at Yachiyo Ryokan during the rainy season of June. It was wonderful to return from a tour of the temples, or a rainy walk outside, to be received immediately and shoes kept and dried for us, with dry towels to wipe off the rain on our backs, and refreshing tea served in our rooms right after we enter them. The service we received was warm but yet not overbearing. We felt welcomed everytime we came back, and were bidded goodbye everytime we stepped out. Very pleasantly different from the professional but cool ways of Western hotels. Our rooms were made up every morning and futons laid out every night. We really appreciated the effort taken. My family enjoyed the free bicycle loans and took rides around the area. They also relaxed in the onsen every night. All in all we felt that the facilities and service in the ryokan were worth the slight distance from maintown Kyoto. Actually, it is good that it is located so near to several temples, including the Southern Higashimaya area. If I were to visit Kyoto again, I would definitely return to stay in Yachiyo Ryokan, and in fact may consider staying longer in order to soak in the traditional Kyoto atmosphere better!”
